Staff Accountant (Temp-to-Hire)

About the Role

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity with one of our valued clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general accounting support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Manage fixed assets, prepaid schedules, and amortization
  • Support AP/AR functions as needed
  • Maintain accurate G/L activity and financial records
  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience (Staff Accountant or similar)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
